Parahockey

Alongside our much awaited EuroHockey Championships in London this year, the European Hockey Federation and England Hockey are organising the Euro ParaHockey Tournament in London, 24th – 26th August 2015. The 3 day tournament will take place in Old Loughtonians Hockey Club, and the final day will be held at the Lee Valley Hockey &Tennis Centre, in between the Women’s pool games.

This Flyerz event highlights the EHF’s core belief that hockey is for everyone. The tournament will feature four established national ParaHockey teams and four developing national teams from around Europe.

The participating teams will be hosted in Feldsted School, where they will receive full room and board for a nominal fee.

Below are the links to the necessary information and forms that you need to enter.

Any queries should be directed to EHF’s Education and Development Manager, Norman Hughes (norman@eurohockey.org).

One of the major complementary activities planned to run alongside the EuroHockey Championships in 2015 is the Masters Championships.

We look forward to welcoming over 1,500 masters players to take part in the masters events, cheer on their country at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre and take in the sites of London too.

There is also a chance for all players and officials to join together for a reception at the stunning Grange St Pauls Hotel on the evening of Sunday 23 August. Everyone is invited and there are more details on the following link:

EuroHockey Masters Competitions will be held for European nations’ teams in all of the current international age groups:

• EuroHockey Women’s Masters 40+, 45+, 50+ and 55+ Cups
• EuroHockey Women’s Grand Masters 60+ Cup
• EuroHockey Men’s Masters 40+, 45+, 50+ and 55+ Cups
• EuroHockey Men’s Grand Masters 60+. 65+, 70+ 75+ Cups

The tournaments are run under the auspices of the International Masters Hockey Association, IMHA (Over 40s to Over 55s) and World Grand Masters Hockey Association, WGMA (Over 60s to Over 75s).

These organisations are recognised by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) who work closely with them.
Associated ‘friendly’ tournament trophy events will also be staged and will be open for nations’ second teams and teams from outside Europe as well.

Similar successful events have been held alongside recent major international tournaments and have proved very popular with Masters and Grand Master players renewing old rivalries.
The events will run between 22-28 August 2015 at the following venues

Men’s Over 40s – Over 55s at Oaklands College home of St Albans Hockey Club
Men’s Over 60s – Over 75s at Southgate Hockey Club
Women’s Over 40s – Over 40s to 60s at Old Loughtonians HC

In addition one match from each of the three umbrella competitions will be held at the main EuroHockey venues, Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre on Monday 24 August.
